Garden chair. . .

Vintage desk or office chair has been stripped down to the wood and white washed--and a plant stand has been born.  Chair will hold a large size fern or other potted plant--perfect for a porch or sunroom--beautiful at weddings!  May be used for a limited time in the garden

a little change. . .

The weather is getting a little warmer in the South and it seems everyone wants to "update" their house.  A little change is always good. . .so why not update the chairs with a new color.
 The old tired chair seats were recovered in a pink and green ticking, making perfect for Spring!  Hope you like the chairs Juliette!

yes you have seen both of these before. . .this is a twin to another table and the chair is very similar to another one that I refinished. No matter. . .they are still cute and cottagey and and have already found their way to another person's home.

Zoo day. . .

Unusual accent chair. . .

Plain Jane chair has been painted black and distressed then covered with a great animal print fabric. The zebra design works great with black furniture as well as white furniture. . .providing contrast. Available at Troy Antiques, $32.

Hold your breath. . .

Weekend projects waiting. . .

I haven't yet quite decided what color to use--
possibly "my" white for one and color for at least one. I have some great zebra print fabric I'm anxious to use, so that may be the covering for the chair seat.

what more can I say. . .

this is yellow. . .

This set is the beginning of my "bumblebee window". . .I have plans for the showcase window at the antique shop. . .furniture and accessories in yellow and black. . .just like a bumblebee!

The small student desk has been painted to match the "found" rattan headboard. Add a mirror to the desk and it easily becomes a dressing table. The look is finished off with a black wrought iron chair/low-back stool that has been upholstered in a gray and yellow graphic print.

a tale. . .

of two chairs. . .

The weekend brought "spring fever" and I finished several projects--sewing and painting (more of this later). The two chairs/stools are entirely different. Both are wrought iron and have covered cushions. The white low-backed stool is finished with a pink and green patchwork/crazy quilt cover. The center is accented with a covered button featuring pink roses.












The black low-backed stool features a gray and yellow graphic print. This stool will co-ordinate with my latest painting project. . .stay tuned!

Spring forward. . .

it's that time of year. . .set the clocks ahead. . .and know that Spring is here!

Painting in the Winter is difficult at best. . .always having to choose the warmest days and the sunny days. . .now I just pick a day and have fun with the furniture!
This small side table has been painted and distressed a creamy white. Its small size makes it perfect next to a chair or even in a small foyer. Available at Troy Antiques for $28.

This dressing table is perfect for many locations. It's distressed white finish is perfectly chic and shabby or beach decor. The dresser would also fit in the nursery. . .waiting until the little girl grows up and needs the mirror.

French County. . .
no matter what you name it, this 4-drawer chest will be perfect wherever you use it. Decorated now for the cottagy home or little girl's bedroom, this chest could just as easily move to your beach house, sunroom, covered porch, kitchen, where you need extra storage.

Houndstooth. . .

Yes, a special stool to match my latest dressing table/dresser! The stool has been covered with a pink & white houndstooth seat and a green and pink polka dot skirt. The seat is corded in the houndstooth fabric.

Who would have thought. . .


that a chair like this could be patio furniture?

This cute chair has already had one life as a patio chair in Florida--but after two years on a balcony, the rust was too much to bear. The restoration began and was finished today!

With it's bright green "Lilly-ish" print, the chair is ready to take on the Florida climate again!

The chair should arrive by noon tomorrow--going home to Sweet Home Wherever!

This petite dresser/nightstand/table is perfect for so many things!It has been painted yellow and distressed.

The dressing table chair has been re-upholstered in a yellow and gray (yes, I know it looks purple) graphic print. They make a perfect combination!

This precious child's rocker was painted courtesy of sweethomewherever. Featuring fun pink and purple flowers, it perfect for any little girl.

The cute little wicker doll carriage has been outfitted with hand stitched linens, The tiny pillow is accented with a vintage pearl button and a vintage pillowcase forms the sheet.

Moving on. . .

My furniture is always "on the move"--either to new
apartments, new houses, college dorms/apartments.

This chest of drawers is moving to Tuscaloosa--The Unversity of Alabama!

The chest of drawers has been painted and distressed.
Anthropologie style fabric drawer pulls were added for interest.









The ornate wrought iron rocker is a weekend "find"--too cute not to included in the photo. The rocker is available at On The Square Antiques, Troy AL for $72.
