I'm always scouring thrift shops, estate sales, and even trash beside the road for "finds". I especially like to discover small stools and dresser benches. These transform easily into beautiful accent pieces.
This particular bench needed a small repair and then was ready to be "re-done" with new floral fabric, featuring a Blue Willow vase. The small skirt gives this bench an entirely different look.

Footstools are always a favorite--they are (usually) easy to transform. With the classic 50's legs, this footstool features a patchwork chenille fabric with moss green fringe.
The stool below is covered in a cranberry twig print fabric and surrounded by lush red and green fringe. It is available at On The Square Antiques, Troy, AL and at http://misshetties.ecrater.com/
