garden delight. . .

old concrete planters. . .

I brought in the concrete planters last week and they have certainly become conversation pieces. They are stunning and would be a wonderful accent to your garden. When the weather warms, flowers or ferns will be planted . Priced at under $100 for the pair, they will be snapped up before Spring.

The concrete baskets are also perfect for flowers or as Easter decorations. There is already a plan growing to use them in our Easter decor at the shop! ($70, pair)

cottage chic. . .

French County. . .
no matter what you name it, this 4-drawer chest will be perfect wherever you use it. Decorated now for the cottagy home or little girl's bedroom, this chest could just as easily move to your beach house, sunroom, covered porch, kitchen, where you need extra storage.
The chest has been painted white and distressed. Priced at under $100 it is a steal!
The white-washed arm chair has the original blue velvet cushion (under $40). A pink heart shaped pillow constructed from vintage chenille ($8) and gold edged mirror (original paint $30) complete the look.
All item for sale at Troy Antiques; pillow listed at eCrater.

and time moves on. . .

What am I doing?

A new project in the works--a different "bracelet"--vintage watch faces joined together with a vintage band combine to make a one of a kind bracelet with an Anthropologie look.

This first bracelet was to be mine but was claimed by sweethomewherever . Another bracelet will be finished soon--I really should open the Etsy shop I've always wanted--oh well, it will be for sale at Troy Antiques

Too many projects. . .

Well I have totally neglected this blog and the shop's blog--can I say the holidays were really busy? Ann and I decorated a Christmas tree at The Johnson Center for the Arts in Troy (Southern Living why don't you come see our trees?) and of course the shop had open house and I was busy working there. New Year's Day came and went--now January is almost over--where have the last two months gone? I promise to do better in the coming months.
I have finished some furniture and am working on more--but it has been really difficult to paint what with all the rain and cold weather we've been having in the South! I'm ready for nice Spring days when paint drys quickly!
I've decorated the shop for Valentine's Day--I promise, photos and another blog entry will be forthcoming! And we're having a Valentine's Day Party this year at the shop--Troy Antiques in Troy Alabama! This is going to be so much fun!!
