Perfectly beautiful 1920's vanity with glove drawer. . .near mint condition. I knew when I saw this vanity it would be even prettier painted white. The mirrors are original to the piece and so are the wooden drawer pulls on the bottom drawers and the glass drawer pulls on the glove drawer. If you look closely you will see the white rabbit's reflection in the mirror

Happy Memorial Day!
Whether you are at the beach, lake, pool, grilling out at home or just "chilling", I hope everyone is going to enjoy the holiday. I love any excuse to decorate for the "season". . .so here we go in a Red, White & Blue theme. I have resurrected the red bottomless chair (I like red!) and filled it with an enamel pot and flowers (yes, "real" flowers would have been better but the porch/door faces south and nothing will survive that sun/heat). . .across the back is a small raggedy fabric garland. Garlands are available in different length and color schemes. The chair would also look cute in the garden.

Hearts afire. . .
or, in other words, I am finally decorated for Valentine's Day!This may seem early to some people, but if you are in a retail business--holidays are important and the quicker you get the decorations unpacked the better. I've been trying for 2 week to spread the red, white, and pink heart cheer but something always stopped me. Today I was determined--everything unpacked and decked out in red, white and. . .
Pink for good measure!

Go to green. . .
The latest project changed midway. . .
The desk was supposed to be black but my best laid plans are often changed. Once I began sanding I realized that this was destined to become another "scraped" look. So far I've had two other pieces of furniture that transitioned into this perfectly (A Treasure and Art Deco).
Desk is available at Troy Antiques, $78.
Cute and blue. . .

Mean green. . .
Just "chalk this up" to me wanting to be different. I almost always paint in (off)white or (off)black--those colors seem to sell better/quicker--this time I had to be different! This wonderful old chest has been dry-brushed in green--yes, green. I think this gives it an "anthropologie" look and feel. The drawer pulls are fabric--I realize not everyone would understand this but really it's just another "anthro" trick.
Now why can't I sell to Anthropologie?
This chest can function in a bedroom as a dresser--in the den, to hold a television--on in a dining room as a buffet or sideboard.
Available at Troy Antiques, $138.
