White again. . .

Yes, I have painted white again.

A five drawer chest of drawers makes great storage for baby or college student. This chest had a difficult life and it suffered some water damage on the bottom back. It has been cleaned and painted white. Available at Troy Antiques for $68.

Halloween is almost upon us--well at least the decorating is and what more could you want but a tombstone!

Actually this piece was originally a firescreen but when I painted it, a different personality emerged. No matter what I did, it still looked like a tombstone. . . The kind in really old southern cemetarys that bears no inscription. So for the moment (or should I say month), it is a tombstone.

About the chairs. . . They were cute in their own right prior to painting, but they needed to match a painted drop leaf table. . . Thus the white. Now the chairs are clean, white, and most important. . . They match the table. Hope you enjoy them Juliette!

Yes, this great cabinet was once (in another life) a music cabinet, designed to hold 78's or "albums". I removed the dividing slats, repainted it inside and out, and changed the piece into an upcycled storage cabinet, for more than just music. Available at Troy Antiques for $65.

I haven't yet quite decided what color to use--
possibly "my" white for one and color for at least one. I have some great zebra print fabric I'm anxious to use, so that may be the covering for the chair seat.

I suppose I'm too slow with my blogging. . .I finished this chair and it was purchased immediately at the shop (Troy Antiques). Originally, the chair was an ugly metallic green (yes, green) and I sanded it a bit then painted it white and distressed it for a softer look.

French County. . .

no matter what you name it, this 4-drawer chest will be perfect wherever you use it. Decorated now for the cottagy home or little girl's bedroom, this chest could just as easily move to your beach house, sunroom, covered porch, kitchen, where you need extra storage.

and toile all over!

This wicker set is my latest addition to my window at the antique shop! The cushions are covered in a black cotton fabric and the throw pillows are a classic black and white toile.

How outdated is a wooden vallet?

This vallet has taken on a new, more glamorous life to become a jewelry keeper/display.

I painted the piece white, dry brushed it sage green, and distressed it for a time worn look. It is precious and a steal at $28. It is available at On The Square Antiques, Troy AL.

Wild African Safari. . .

actually no--my display only turned out this way!

My latest re-do is a 5 drawer chest of drawers. I painted it green then decided to dry brush it with black. The green just wasn't perfect and the black accents made it more unusual!

The display included this wonderful "tribal" theme stool that I found at the latest estate sale. The leather covered animals are courtesy of a friend downsizing--they really "make" the display! If you look closely, a vintage globe sits atop the chest of drawers along with a beautiful gold frame.
